The US artistic gymnast Tim McNeill tested positive for triamcinolone acetonide, said a release from the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) office in Lausanne of Switzerland on Monday.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced last Wednesday that gymnast McNeill tested positive for triamcinolone acetonide (glucocorticostreroid) on May 24 this year, and accepted a public warning for this first offence.
The doping offence involved the use of a prescribed anti-inflammatory medication under the care of a physician, but without first seeking a therapeutic use exemption as required by the applicable rules.
Case in hand, the FIG called for a meeting of its Disciplinary Commission on July 27 to 28, in keeping with standard procedure.
One representative of USA Gymnastics and two of the World Anti-doping Agency were invited to the meeting.
At the close of discussions and following recommendations put forth by the Disciplinary Commission, the FIG Presidential Commission decided not to appeal the USADA's decision.
