Olympic Fencing Hall sets fense to create quiet training environment
Adjust font size:

The Fencing Hall for the Olympics has enclosed the training field on Thursday to fend off journalists and to create a quiet training environment for fencers.

"The fense was set up to create a tranquil environment for the fencers so that they can concentrate on training," said Li Fanghui, who is responsible for media-related affairs at the Fencing Hall.

Romanian, Ukrainian and Cuban fencers came here on Thursday morning for pre-Game trainings, and journalists at the venue watched their training from the press tribune, which has been separated from the training field by a fense.

The training field is on the first floor of the Olympic Fencing Hall, which is adjacent to the main Olympic stadium "Bird Nest." At Games time, fencers will compete on the fourth floor with a capacity of more than 4,000.
