China's women's handball team will play against Hungary on August 5th in a friendly and the game will be both teams' last warm-up for the Beijing Olympic Games.
"All the players are under sound form without serious injury. The team will have a friendly game against Hungary on August 5th. It may not be a complete game. The two sides may only play one half or twenty minutes. After all, we need to keep the squad in good physical condition," said Chinese team leader Deng Li on Sunday.
Finishing the 8th in Athens Games, China is busy training in the Olympic Sports Center in Beijing, the venue to hold handball events during the quadrennial sports gala, aiming to improve the result it achieved four years ago.
Drafted in Group A for the Olympics, China will face Norway, Romania, France, Angola and Kazakhstan in the preliminary stage. And China needs to win at least two games to accomplish this goal.
Hungary, the fifth placer in Athens, will also compete in Beijing Games. And it will play in Group B.
Twelve teams to play in the women's handball event of Beijing Olympic Games are divided into two groups. Top four of each group will enter the quarterfinal stage.
