Spanish triathlete Noya on course for Olympic gold
Adjust font size:

Spanish triathlete Javier Gomez Noya believes his recent win in Hungary is the prefect preparation for the Beijing Olympic Games.

Noya won the World Cup event in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary, on Sunday and said on Monday that he could not be traveling to Beijing in better shape.

"I have won all of the races that I have taken part in this year in the World Cup. I think that is the best way to go to the Games," said the Spaniard.

Before his win in Hungary, Noya had already won events in Mooloolaba, New Plymouth and Madrid and as such he has to be one of the favorites for gold in Beijing.

"I am really pleased with my performances, I was a bit tired because I have been training very hard in the past week," he explained in Marca.
