Brazilian beach volleyballer looks for new partner
Adjust font size:

Although there still exists the possibility of Juliana recovering in time for the Olympics, her teammate Larissa admitted on Thursday that she has already began the search for a new partner.

The Brazilian beach volleyball duo of Larissa and Juliana qualified last week to represent Brazil in the competition in China. However, with Juliana's recent injury to her right knee, Larissa needs to think about a replacement for August's Games.

Even the thought of having to search for a replacement partner sickens Larissa. The duo has played together since 2002. "Even without her in the court, I know she will be with me in spirit," said Larissa.

The 1996 gold medal winner, Sandra Pires, has offered herself as a possible selection for Larissa.
