Australia's Cadel Evans won the men 's time trial at the "2007 Good Luck Beijing" International Road Cycling Tournament on Sunday.
The 2007 Tour de France runner-up clocked 32 minutes and 28 seconds 92 to take the gold, beating his teammate Michael Rogers to the second place in 32:53.66.
"The weather was hot and humid. This is my first time to come to China, everything here for me was new, I need time to adjust to it, " said Evans.
"I started a bit slow today, but kept the pace and sprint really well at the end of the race, " added Evans.
When being asked his next target after winning on the Beijing Olympic road, the Australian cycling star did not hide his ambition towards Olympic gold.
"I hope I could stand in the same spot next year at the Beijing Olympic Games. After the Tour de France, I will come to Beijing, "added Evans.
The bronze medal went to Alexandr Dyachenko of Kazakhstan in 33: 27.52.
