The fourth round of the campaign for a Beijing 2008 Olympic
theme song has generated more than 420 musical scores and 4,800
lyrics, organizers said.
Most of the works came from professional musicians and according
to the Organizing Committee of the 2008 Olympic Games (BOCOG) the
quality is "quite high".
BOCOG said earlier that the deadline to submit candidate songs
is March 10, 2008.
The worldwide solicitation, which was launched on January 21,
also targets a theme song for the 2008 Paralympic Games as well as
theme songs for the torch relay and awarding ceremonies.
The theme song for the 2008 Olympics, to be picked from all the
entries of the four editions, will be unveiled 100 days before the
opening ceremony of the Games.
The Beijing Olympics take place from August 8 to 24, 2008.
