RMB10 Thai food up for grabs!
Adjust font size:

Simply Thai, the first Thai restaurant in Shanghai, is celebrating its 10th birthday with a feast party with their loyal following. Customers have 10 hours from 11am to 9pm from January 15 through to 17 to enjoy RMB10 for a dish from its birthday menu of 10 dishes. Simply Thai launched this promotion with the aim of giving back to its customers by charging such special prices.

This promotion is taking foodies by storm with its launch yesterday. With queues forming outside each of the four Simply Thai at lunch time all day through to dinner. Michael Li, a local resident who is a regular at Simply Thai was in the queue tells us "This is one of my favourite restaurants and even though it's cold waiting in line, once inside, I know I'll be rewarded with a great meal at unbeatable prices so it's definitely worth the wait!" Looks like many shared this view as waiting time for a table could be a long as 30 minutes.

"It's a cheap lunch for five of us,  we only paid RMB150 for 15 dishes. We would have loved to eat more but we're really feeling stuffed now. This is such a great promotion, we want to make a trip again this Saturday," said Kelly Liu who was leaving the Xintiandi outlet with her friends. She was one of the first few in the queue at 11am.

Wang Jianping, an office worker working near Xintiandi told us "It's the first time I'm trying such authentic Thai food. Though some of the dishes are slightly spicy, I love the taste of Thai herbs and spices. At such good prices, I'll take my family here tomorrow again!"

Richard Lim, CEO of Simply the Group, says "Celebrating our 10th birthday is a really joyous occasion for us. So we just want everyone to be happy feasting in our restaurants on these three days!"

The 10 dishes on the birthday menu include iconic Thai dishes like green papaya salad, green curry chicken, fish cakes as well as spring rolls, samosas, chicken with basil, minced pork with Thai herbs, glass noodles salad with seafood, fried vermicelli with coconut sauce and sago & coconut pudding. This three-day promotion ends tomorrow.
