As one of the top universities in China, RUC recruits 1,600 international students every year. Of these about 200 students are government-funded.
International students have the following options of study at RUC:
Bachelor's program; Master's program; Doctorate Program; Language Students Program; Preparatory courses; General scholars; Senior scholars; Research Scholars.
Requirement of proficiency in Chinese language:
RUC opens all its majors, including law, journalism and international relations, to overseas students who have passed the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK Test). Students applying for the Bachelor’s degree should pass level B of the HSK Test and those applying for Masters and Doctorate degrees should pass level 7 of the HSK Test.
Application processing:
For those applying for entry at the RUC through governmental agreements, their application shall be handled in accordance with pertinent governmental agreements. Self-funded students may apply to the International Students Office of RUC. The school enrolls foreign students in all fields in autumn, and enrolls a small number of scholars for advanced studies and students learning Chinese in spring. To apply for the autumn term, candidates should submit their applications no later than May 31. For entry in spring, all application materials must be sent before the end of the previous year.
Health exam:
Those applying for studying over six months are required to have a health examination within the six-month period prior to their enrollment. The examination must conform to the items prescribed by the Health Examination Record for People from overseas issued by the Chinese Quarantine Department.
Accommodation information:
There are three International Student Buildings on the RUC campus. Buildings No.1 and No.2 respectively charge 31 yuan (US$4.5) and 35 yuan per bed per day for those who need to lodge in the campus for six months. Building No.3, charges 90 yuan per day for a single room with bathroom, TV, telephone, air-conditioning, and internet facilities.
Tuition Fees:
Bachelor's degree students, General scholars 21,500 yuan (US $3,146)
Majors in law, journalism and international relations 23,200 yuan
Masters degree students: 26,500 yuan
Majors in law, journalism and international relations: 28,200 yuan
Doctoral students: 29,800 yuan
Majors in law, journalism and international relations: 31,500 yuan
