Silicon Valley engineer to face charges after killing
Adjust font size:

A Silicon Valley engineer who allegedly killed three top executives of the company that fired him on the same day is expected to be arraigned in court this week, authorities said Monday.

Jing Hua Wu, 47, was arrested Saturday, one day after he made an appointment with the executives at Siport, a startup semiconductor company in Santa Clara, and shot them with a 9 mm handgun.

Police spent the weekend "trying to tie up loose ends and are still investigating the case" regarding why Wu committed the killings, said Mike Sellers of the Santa Clara Police Department.

Sellers said police will likely wrap up their preliminary investigation by Tuesday and then forward their findings to the District Attorney's Office. Wu's arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

The three killed in the shooting spree were Siport co-founder and chief executive Sid Agrawal, vice president for operations Brian Pugh and human resources chief Marilyn Lewis.

Police said Wu asked for a meeting with the Siport executives Friday afternoon, hours after he was fired by the company because of poor performance issues.
