Latin American presidents and representatives met in Santiago on Monday at an urgent summit summoned by Chilean President Michelle Bachelet to seek a political solution to the crisis in Bolivia.
During the summit, the presidents will discuss a document which proposes to send a mission to mediate in Bolivia's parties of the conflict.
At the end of the summit, Bachelet will give a report to the press about the agreements reached.
Bolivian opposition (rightists) are making a violent campaign against the government of Bolivian President Evo Morales, which has killed 30 people, mainly farmers and native supporters of Morales.
This is the first summit of the Union of South American Nationsor Unasur since it was constituted four months ago. The summit was summoned by Bachelet as she is the temporary president of this regional organization.
Presidents and representatives discussed door closed Chile's proposal to sent a mediation mission to Bolivia in order to mediate between the parties of the conflict and to guarantee the setting of a dialogue table to end the conflict that Bolivia is going through since one week ago.
