37 people die in flood in E. Pakistan

As many as 37 people died during the current spell of rain and flood in eastern Pakistan's Punjab province, official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported Friday.

Apart from human life losses in ten districts of Punjab, 3,472 houses were completely damaged, said the report.

The APP quoted Director Relief and Crisis Management Mian Muhammad Akram as saying that a number of relief camps had been set up to house the affectees.

He said that government officials had already been directed by the Chief Minister of Punjab to fully ensure best possible relief measures in all the affected areas on top priority.
