1 killed, 16 injured in Pakistan's tribal area

One security man was killed and 16 others suffered injuries in Northwest Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal area, a local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported on Saturday.

Militants launched an attack on a military convoy in North Waziristan, leaving one security force soldier dead and 16 others injured, the report said.

Official confirmation and other details of the attack are not immediately available.
