South Korean chief negotiator Chun Yung-woo arrived in Beijing
on Tuesday morning to participate in a chief negotiator meeting of
the six-party talks scheduled on Wednesday.
North Korea is implementing its commitment to the
denuclearization on the shutdown of the Yongbyon nuclear reactor,
which is a tangible step to the denuclearization process, Chun said
upon his arrival at the Capital International Airport.
The denuclearization process has just had a start however, and
all sides still have a difficult way to go in the future, he
said.
Chun also called for other sides to take corresponding measures
with North Korea and promote the denuclearization process.
The two-day meeting is scheduled to start in Beijing on
Wednesday morning, during which the chief delegates will discuss
issues related to the initial actions for denuclearization and lay
out following steps.
Besides Chun, US chief envoy Christopher Hill, Russian envoy
Vladimir Rakhmanin and North Korean chief envoy Kim Kye-gwan have
arrived Beijing.
