The six parties to the Korean Peninsula nuclear talks held a
working group meeting on economy and energy cooperation on Thursday
afternoon.
The meeting, held at the South Korean Embassy in Beijing, was
attended by South Korean chief negotiator Chun Yung-woo and
officials of the other five parties.
The sixth round of talks, involving China, the US, Japan,
Russia, North and South Korea, is scheduled to start on March
19.
According to the February 13 joint document, the six parties
agreed on the establishment of five working groups on the
denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, normalization of North
Korea relations with the US and Japan, economy and energy
cooperation as well as Northeast Asia peace and security
mechanism.
