The two nations also supported each other in international and regional affairs.
The growth of bilateral relations was in accord with the interests of both sides, Wu said. He noted that China was ready to work with Peru to increase bilateral cooperation.
Wu said that exchanges between the NPC and the Peruvian parliament had helped strengthen mutual understanding and promoted the development of bilateral relations. The NPC valued relations with the Peruvian parliament and was ready to increase exchanges and cooperation.
Garcia told Wu that Peru would seek to deepen the bilateral traditional friendship and increase cooperation to advance bilateral relations.
As to the Olympic Games, Garcia said the Chinese government and people had made great efforts to prepare for this grand sports event. Peru firmly opposed to using the Games to create disruption or tarnish the image of China.
Garcia wished success for the Beijing Olympics.
