China and Brunei reached a five-point consensus n
Seri Begawan on Saturday to further boost the overall development
of the bilateral ties.
The consensus was reached after Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Brunei Foreign
Minister Mohamed Bolkiah.
According to the consensus, China and Brunei will maintain
exchanges of high-ranking official visits and enhance their
traditional friendship.
The two countries also agreed to tap the potential to deepen and
expand their economic and trade cooperation.
Meanwhile, the two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in
the areas such as agriculture, petroleum engineering technology,
port development, road and bridge constructions.
The two sides also will expand their cooperation in culture,
education, tourism, human resources development and further deepen
the consultations and cooperation between the foreign ministries of
the two countries.
Yang arrived n Seri Begawan earlier on Saturday for a three-day
visit to Brunei.
