Int'l cooperation urged to tackle financial crisis
Adjust font size:

China is calling for enhanced cooperation from the international community to fight the world's financial crisis.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the remarks on Tuesday.

He noted, relevant measures should be conducive to safeguarding financial market stability and healthy development of world economy.

He said over these days, leaders of various countries had made proposals on fighting the financial crisis, which need to be fully recognized by the international community. China hopes these proposals would be fully implemented to combat the financial crisis and maintain the stability of international financial market.

The concerns and interests of developing countries should be respected and protected, he said.

He added that China would continue to have discussions with parties in a positive, responsible and constructive manner.

Qin said the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) that begins in Beijing on Friday, would be a platform to discuss proposals to combat the financial crisis and maintain market stability.
