The ninth meeting of the China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Joint Cooperation Committee was held from March 3 to 5 in China's southwestern Chongqing municipality, China's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, senior officials from 11 ministries of China and ten ASEAN member states and the ASEAN secretariat attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on the exchange of views on facilitating substantial and all-round cooperation between China and ASEAN, and implementing follow-up actions of the China-ASEAN summit last year, the press release said.
All ASEAN members spoke highly of China-ASEAN cooperation, saying they would deepen bilateral strategic partnership and promote win-win with China, it said.
The Joint Cooperation Committee, set up in 1997, acts as an annual dialogue and coordination mechanism between China and the ASEAN.
