The Chinese version of the Indian president's book Guiding
Souls: Dialogues on the Purpose of Life was published in China
on Wednesday to mark China-India Friendship Year.
The book considered the essence of humanity and represented the
president's understanding of life and human nature, said Chai
Shangjin, deputy editor-in-chief of Contemporary World Publishing
House, the publisher of the book.
On the preface of the Chinese version, Indian President Abdul
Kalam says cooperation between India and China would bring global
peace, prosperity and security.
Philosophical communication and exchanges was an important
foundation for international understanding, said Liu Hongcai,
deputy head of the International Department of the Communist Party
of China Central Committee.
The book's publication in China was a major event in bilateral
relations and created a harmonious atmosphere for high-level
exchanges between the two countries, Liu said at the launch
ceremony.
The development of friendship and peaceful coexistence between
China and India was inevitable, he added.
