The third China-Russia Women's Culture Week is to be held in
Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou from October 19 to 25, sources with
the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) said yesterday.
A high-ranking delegation of 59 Russians from all walks of life,
including women parliament members, actresses, painters,
representatives of women's organizations and celebrities will
attend the event, one of the main activities of the "Year of Russia
in China."
A forum will be organized for Chinese and Russian women to
exchange views on women's development and discuss relations between
women and politics, economics and society.
A contemporary art exhibition of Chinese and Russian women
painters will be held in Beijing, and Chinese and Russian artists
will give performances.
Russian delegates will also visit communities, factories and
colleges in the eastern Chinese cities of Shanghai and Suzhou.
China-Russia Women's Culture Week is organized under the
framework of the Women's Committee of the China-Russia Friendship
Committee for Peace and Development.
The first such culture week was held in 2002 in Beijing and
Shanghai, the second in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2004.
