Cuba and China signed an agreement in Havana on Monday to boost
cultural exchange between the two countries.
The agreement, signed by Cuba's Culture Minister Abel Prieto and
Chen Xiaoguang, visiting Chinese vice culture minister, will be in
effect between 2007 and 2009.
Under the agreement, the two sides are committed to establishing
incentives "for artists, art groups and art experts to take part in
cultural shows, festivals and international events."
Academic working groups will be set up, according to the
agreement, to encourage the exchange of teachers, students,
research programs, information and publications between the two
countries.
Cuba and China will also send official delegations to each
other's countries to ensure the implementation of the joint
project.
