Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Tuesday met with his counterparts of India, Brazil, South Africa and Mexico in New York and discussed issues of common concern, especially issues related to the upcoming G20 summit in Pittsburgh.
The foreign ministers from the five developing countries exchanged opinions on the current international situation.
It was the fourth meeting of foreign ministers from the five countries.
On the sidelines of the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly September last year, foreign ministers from the five countries held meeting to exchange views on such issues as food security, climate change, and financial stability, and discussed furthering cooperation among the five nations.
The 64th session of UN General Assembly started on Sept. 15 at its New York headquarters. The general debate will be held on Sept. 23-26 and Sept. 28-29.
