Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met Thursday with the Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.

Wang said the China-Cuba relations were at a new period in their overall development. He said China hoped to work with Cuba to actively carry out important consensus on issues reached by leaders of both countries to promote cooperation in all areas to achieve new outcomes.

Cabrisas praised the fruitful results of the visit made by Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo to Cuba and thanked the nation for its continued support for Cuba.

Also on Thursday, Wang met with a delegation of the Progressive Party of the Working People of Cyprus led by its General Secretary Andreas Kyprianou.

The two sides reached a series of consensus on the mutual deepening of exchanges and cooperation.
