Three separate bomb attacks in Baghdad late on Saturday killed two people and wounded 32 others, along with destroying parts of a church in western Baghdad, a well- informed police source said on Sunday.
An explosive-charge was detonated at the gate of a billiards hall in Baghdad's central district of Karrada on Saturday night, killing a civilian and wounding 11 others, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Minutes later, another bomb struck a passing police patrol at the same area, damaging one of the patrol's vehicles and wounding nine policemen, the source said.
In a separate incident, a bomb planted in the car of an Iraqi cabinet official detonated while the official was travelling at night with his wife in Saydiyah neighborhood in southern Baghdad, killing him and wounding his wife, along with 11 bystanders, the source added.
Also late Saturday, two explosive charges planted in the Church of Mar Yousif in the neighborhood of Jamia in western Baghdad detonated at about 11:00 p.m. (2000 GMT), the source said.
The blast destroyed parts of the church's building without causing human casualty as the building was empty and the guard was on leave, he said.
Sporadic attacks continue in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities despite low level of violence compared with the previous years.
The attacks came several days after the pullout of U.S. troops from Iraqi towns and cities according to an agreement signed late last year between Baghdad and Washington.
