Senior Chinese leader Li Changchun on Friday called on media organizations from China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) to offer more news reports that conducive to cementing bilateral strategic and cooperative partnership.
Li, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks in a meeting with a group of ROK delegates who are here to attend a Sino-ROK high-level media dialogue Thursday.
Hailing fruitful media cooperation between the two countries, Li hopes press organizations take the opportunity of the dialogue to set up a regular exchange mechanism, and provide more news reports and information that help boost Sino-ROK strategic and cooperative partnership.
The high-level dialogue, drawing delegates from some 20 major press organizations from both countries, focused on topics including measures to stand against the current global economic downturn, the role of media and ways to boost press cooperation.
The ROK delegates said they would make efforts to cover friendly bilateral cooperation in various areas and contribute more to strengthening the understandings between the two peoples.
