Bai Lichen, a senior official of China's top political advisory body, has said during his visit to Tunisia that the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will enhance its cooperation and exchanges with Tunisia's parliament.

During his visit to Tunisia, which was concluded Thursday, Bai, vice-chairman of the CPPCC, attended the third seminar on Sino-Arab relations and civilizations within the framework of Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum and addressed its opening ceremony.

He also cut the ribbons for a show of the Chinese versions of some Arabic masterpieces, and visited an exhibition of Chinese treasure run by Carthage Museum.

He also met with Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi, President of the Chamber of Advisors Abdallah Kallel and Foreign Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah.

Bai said during the meetings that the CPPCC would like to enhance its exchange and cooperation with Tunisia's Chamber of Advisors Senate and exchange experiences in managing state affairs so as to promote the all-round development of Sino-Tunisia ties.

His Tunisian hosts said they would like to use the opportunity provided by the seminar to promote the dialogue and exchanges between Arab and Chinese civilizations, foster mutual understanding and trust, push forward bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation and enhance the exchanges and ties between Tunisia's parliament and the CPPCC.
