A special representative of Chinese President Hu Jintao will attend the inauguration of South Africa's new president Jacob Zuma on May 9, according to the Foreign Ministry.
At the invitation of the South African government, Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), will attend the ceremony as special representative of President Hu, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu Tuesday at a regular press briefing.
The National Committee of the CPPCC is China's top political advisory body.
