The Democratic People's Repubilc of Korea (DPRK) accused South Korea on Wednesday of moving a marker of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL).
South Korea recently moved Marker No. 0768 of the MDL in the eastern sector of the front dozens of meters close to the area of the DPRK side, the official KCNA news agency said.
The provocation is a violation of the Armistice Agreement and a "deliberate and premeditated" action to escalate tension in the areas along the MDL, it said.
DPRK demanded the South Korea to "immediately replant the marker in the place where it used to be." Otherwise, the DPRK would "take a measure for self-defence."
There are 1290 markers made by concrete along the MDL which has an overall length of over 240 km.
