Vietnamese Ambassador to China Nguyen Van Tho said in Beijing on Wednesday that Vietnam would further enhance cooperation with China in tackling the financial crisis and deepen their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Nguyen told a press conference that Vietnam and China would mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties and the two sides could take this opportunity and plan a variety of activities to promote bilateral cooperation and enhance friendship of the two peoples.
Nguyen said that Vietnam and China had frequent high-level exchanges and reached consensus on many important issues in 2008. The two countries had strengthened political mutual trust and made great achievements in economic and trade cooperation.
Nguyen stressed that Vietnam and China completed the work of land border demarcation and erecting border markers at the end of 2008. "This was conducive to promoting the bilateral friendly exchanges and enhancing cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, science and technology."
He said, "I believe that further development of the bilateral ties, which is in the interests of the two peoples, will make contribution to the peace, stability, cooperation and development of the region and world."
