Missile BrahMos test fired at India's Pokharan

India Sunday successfully test fired a new version of its supersonic surface-to-surface cruise missile BrahMos at Pokhran in the deserts of the western Indian state of Rajasthan, a senior Indian Defense Ministry official said.

"The Block II version of BrahMos missile, which has a striking range of 290 km, successfully made to its target in exactly two-and-a-half minutes after its was launched in Pokhran at around 11:00 a.m. (0530 GMT)," the official said, on condition of anonymity.
