Interpol will soon issue red corner notices against the alleged masterminds behind the Mumbai terror attacks last November, which killed over 170 people, including foreign nationals, said an Indian police official Tuesday.

"Interpol India is in touch with Mumbai Police, currently investigating the Mumbai massacre, to procure the legal warrants against the accused involved in the terrorist attacks. On the basis of the warrants, Interpol will issue the red corner notices against the alleged mastreminds, including Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashker-e-Toiba's chief Zakhir-ur-Rahman Lakhvi," a senior police official told the media.

Indian Home Ministry is also finalizing the modalities to hand over the DNA samples of the Mohammad Abdul Ajmal alias Kasab, the only terrorist caught alive in the attacks on Mumbai, he said.

India has already shared evidence of the Mumbai terror attacks last November with the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with the United States. Pakistan has reportedly rejected an offer of assistance from the FBI.

Interpol officials have praised Pakistan's efforts to find the plotters but chided India for not sharing the information with them.

"India has shared information with the FBI, they have kept Interpol largely out of the loop. So far, we have received no information from the government of India or any (Indian) police organization," Interpol chief Donald Noble told the media Sunday in Islamabad.

The France-based international police organization has also announced an agreement with Pakistan to aid an investigation into the masterminds behind the Mumbai attacks.
