Attackers on Sri Lankan cricketers identified

The security agencies have identified the perpetrators of terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team, the governor of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province Salmaan Taseer told reporters on Thursday.

"We have identified the people who did the operation," Taseer told a news conference in Lahore, capital city of Punjab province.

Taseer said that the many people had been arrested and some suspects rounded up, according to a report filed by local newspaper The News on its website.

Taseer said the final investigation would be presented on Friday and he would be in a position to say more.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan Cricket team on way to the stadium in Lahore on Tuesday morning, killing at least seven persons including five policemen and injuring 19 others including seven Sri Lankan players and their assistant coach.
