China expects the upcoming tripartite meeting with South Korea and Japan to achieve a "positive result", said Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao on Tuesday.
China hoped the meeting would enhance cooperation among the three nations in east Asia, and promote peace, stability and development in northeast Asia and east Asia, Liu told a regular press conference.
According to the spokesman, the leaders of the three countries would touch upon relationships, cooperation over the financial crisis and on other international and regional issues of common concern.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will attend a tripartite summit of China, Japan and South Korea scheduled for December 13 in Fukuoka, Japan.
