Foreign Ministers of China and Kyrgyzstan held talks in Beijing on Wednesday, discussing the development of bilateral relations and other issues of common concern.
Hailing the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said China wanted to further enhance political trust with Kyrgyzstan and expand bilateral cooperation in many fields.
He called for the two countries to increase coordination between multilateral organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the United Nations.
Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ednan Karabayev echoed Yang as saying that Kyrgyzstan highly valued its relations with China. The country will continue to firmly support China on issues relating to Tibet and the fight against the "three evil forces" of terrorism, extremism and separatism.
Karabayev said Kyrgyzstan will also work with China to promote bilateral cooperation in areas including politics, economy, transportation, security and culture.
After the talks, the two foreign ministers signed a cooperation plan for the two countries to carry out in 2009. Details were not revealed.
Invited by Yang, Karabayev will be in China from Nov. 11-16.
