Singaporean PM starts China visit

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong arrived in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon, starting his official visit to China.

During the six-day tour in China, Lee will meet top Chinese leaders and attend the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting scheduled in Beijing on October 24-25.

He also planned to visit the cities of Xi'an and Shanghai.

Lee's wife Ho Ching, executive director and chief executive officer of Singapore state investment firm Temasek Holdings, was expected to arrive in Beijing Thursday.
