Denmark is willing to enhance economic cooperation with China and its companies, said visiting Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Shanghai on Tuesday.
Rasmussen made the remarks at a news conference.
Besides economic cooperation, Rasmussen also called on the two countries to strengthen technological cooperation by communicating through scientific research institutions and high-tech companies.
He would also like to deepen the friendship of the two peoples through tourism, culture and student exchanges.
He said Denmark will attend the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and had issued its plan for the exhibition.
The Shanghai World Expo will take place from May 1 to October 31, 2010. It is expected to draw 70 million visitors, an average of 400,000 a day.
So far, 179 countries and regions, as well as 44 international organizations, confirmed participation in the Shanghai World Expo. Those numbers surpass the previous attendance record held by Hanover, Germany, in 2000.
During his visit in Shanghai, Rasmussen met Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng and visited the Shanghai research and development center of China's ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions.
Rasmussen arrived in Shanghai on Monday, starting his official visit to China. He will also attend the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) to be held in Beijing October 24-25.
