The international "unsavory forces" attempts to politicize and scuttle the Beijing Olympic Games were doomed to failure, North Korean official Rodong Sinmun newspaper said Monday.
The pride and enthusiasm of holding the Olympic Games were prevailing among the Chinese people. The people around the world also wished the Beijing Olympic Games to be held smoothly and successfully, said an article carried by the Rodong Sinmun.
But some "unsavory forces" were running counter to the mainstream, the article said.
The 2007 human rights report issued by the US State Department aimed to poison the atmosphere of the Beijing Olympic Games, the article said, adding that the report rebuked over 190 countries including China.
The riots broken out recently in Tibet were obviously organized by the Tibet separatists, with the wicked intention of scuttling and demolishing the Beijing Olympic Games, it added.
The article said the attempts of the "unsavory forces" to exploit the riots in a bid to boycott and politicize the Beijing Olympic Games was denounced and opposed by the international community.
The torch relay of the Beijing Olympic Games will start on Monday in Greece. Pyongyang is the 18th stop of the relay around the world.
