FM Ends Visit to N Korea
Adjust font size:

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi ended a three-day visit to North Korea on Wednesday and left for Indonesia.

Yang's tour focused on his talks with North Korean top leader Kim Jong-il on Tuesday and both sides touched on a series of issues including the nuclear issue.

China, host country of the six-party talks, wants to see the "full implementation" of the existing agreements on the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, Yang said.

Kim said there have been some "signs of easing" on the peninsula and all parties concerned should take initial actions.

China has worked hard to resolve the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and North Korea hopes to continue to communicate and coordinate with China on the issue, he said.

Yang also met with his counterpart Pak Ui-chun.

Yang arrived in Pyongyang on Monday after a three-day visit to Mongolia.
