President of the Republic of Cyprus Tassos Papadopoulos on
Tuesday called for Chinese companies to invest in Cyprus.
During his stay in Shanghai, China's financial centre,
Papadopoulos addressed a seminar attended by nearly 300 businessmen
from China and Cyprus.
Hailing Cyprus's favorable geographical position and its lowest
corporation tax in the European Union, Papadopoulos encouraged
Chinese companies to invest in Cyprus.
With more than 100 government officials and entrepreneurs among
his entourage, Papadopoulos's visit is expected to help boost
bilateral cooperation in economy and tourism.
Shanghai is the first-leg of Papadopoulos's five-day state visit
to China.
