Jiang Zhenghua, vice chairman of the National People's Congress
(NPC) Standing Committee, China's top legislature, pledged in
Beijing on Tuesday to strengthen parliamentary cooperation with the
Israeli side.
Jiang made the remark in a meeting with Yakov Litzman, chairman
of the Finance Committee of the Knesset of Israel, Israel's
parliament.
Jiang said there's a lot China can learn from Israel, such as
Israel's advanced technologies of water saving and solar power
utilization.
He said he will continue to promote the cooperation between the
two parliaments and the two countries.
Litzman said the cooperation between Israel and China is very
important, saying the two countries have very good relations.
He recalled the history that a large number of Jewish fled to
China and survived from Nazi's massacre during the World War II and
thanked China for receiving the Jewish people.
Litzman invited Jiang, who had visited Israel in 2000 as a
scholar, to visit Israel again, saying many changes have taken
place in the country.
