Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will visit China
from October 27 to 31 to boost China-ASEAN (Association of the
Southeast Asian Nations) relations, Indonesian Presidential
spokesman said in Jakarta Wednesday.
"The president realizes the importance of China as a dialogue
partner of ASEAN," spokesman Dino Pati Djalal said.
During his visit, President Susilo is to present at the main
event of the ASEAN-China commemorate summit on October 30-31 in
Nanning, capital of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Dino
said.
"On October 30, President Susilo, who is among those signing a
joint statement of the summit, will attend the main event, the
commemoration of the 15-year ASEAN-China partnership relations,"
said Dino.
In the evening, the president is to have a dinner invited by the
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, said Dino.
Before the summit, Susilo is scheduled to attend the
Indonesia-China Energy Forum in Shanghai on October 27-29, the
spokesman said.
On October 28, the president is to open the 2nd Indonesia-China
Energy Forum, deliver a welcoming speech and witness the signing of
an agreement on energy between the companies from the two
countries, according to Dino.
In addition, Susilo is going to have a field trip to the
Shanghai garbage power plant, a company that turns garbage into
energy, and have a number of visits in Guilin, one of China's
tourist attractions in Guangxi said the spokesman.
On October 31, the president will open the third ASEAN-China
expo before returning to the home country, Dino said.
