China's National People's Congress (NPC) will work with the
Russian State Duma to strengthen coordination and cooperation in
international and regional parliamentary organizations, as well as
cooperation in some other fields, said Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo in Beijing on Friday.
Wu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, noted that these
fields include legislation, implementation of laws, promotion of
implementation of large-scale projects and people-to-people
exchanges.
He told K. I. Kosachev, chairman of the international affairs
committee of the State Duma, that the parliaments of the two
countries should strengthen cooperation so as to serve the
development of bilateral relations.
Wu said the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries
in various fields will become closer and some major cooperation
projects will make substantial progress, as the activities in the
Year of Russia are vigorously carried out in China.
Kosachev echoed Wu's views, saying that the Russian side is
willing to join hands with China to make concrete achievements in
bilateral parliamentary cooperation.
