Adjust font size:

China appreciates Tajikistan's firm support in the past years on issues concerning Taiwan, Tibet, Falungong and combating "East Turkistan" terrorist forces, said State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan in Beijing Wednesday.

Tang said when meeting with Tajikistan Deputy Prime Minister Asadullo Gulomovich Gulomov that China will, as always, support Tajikistan's efforts in safeguarding national independence, sovereignty and stability and economic development.

Tang said President Hu Jintao and Tajikistan President Emomali Rakhmonov met twice last year, and reached a series of important consensus on promoting the development of bilateral relations.

"This injects new impetus into the mutually-beneficial cooperation between China and Tajikistan in various fields," Tang noted.

Gulomov said Tajikistan attaches great importance to relations with China, and regards it as a priority in the country's diplomatic work.

Tajikistan appreciates China's assistance over the past years and will firmly adhere to the one-China policy and push for cooperation with China in various fields.

Tajikistan is ready to enhance coordination with China in international affairs, and make all efforts to cooperate with China in hosting this year's summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
