Brazil's Health Ministry announced on Monday that five more cases of A/H1N1 flu have been confirmed in the country, raising the infection toll to 74.
According to the ministry, four patients are from Sao Paulo state and one is from the Federal District. All of them caught the flu during international trips.
The patients are in good condition and undergoing treatment, the ministry added.
As among the 74 cases, 18 patients infected in Brazil had direct contact with those infected abroad, the ministry considered that the domestic transmission is restricted and the A/H1N1 flu is not circulating in the country.
The number of confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu in the world has exceeded 35,900, including 163 deaths, according to a latest update of the World Health Organization.
