According to China Care Net of Traditional Chinese Medicine,
foreigners began coming to China to study TCM in the 1950s, with no
more than 10 people every year.
However, the number has jumped dramatically since the 1990s, and
especially between 2000 and 2005, when it reached more than 200
people annually.
In 2006, that figure doubled. Many students are from Europe, the
United States, the Middle East, and South Korea. They mainly come
to study acupuncture, massage, and TCM.
