The 11th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, will hold its second annual session on March 5, 2009, according to a resolution adopted by the NPC Standing Committee on Saturday.
The NPC Standing Committee also proposed an agenda for the annual session, including discussion of the government work report, discussing and approving a report on the implementation of the national economic and social development plan for 2008 and the national economic and social development program for 2009.
Other items on the agenda include examining and approving reports on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2008 and on the draft central and local budgets for 2009, and deliberating work reports of the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
