Luo Zhijun was appointed vice and acting governor of east
China's Jiangsu Province on Friday, according to the provincial
legislative body.
Luo, previously Party Secretary of the Nanjing municipal
committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), was named to the
post during the 34th session of the standing committee of the 10th
Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress.
The provincial legislature also approved the resignation of
Liang Baohua, the former Jiangsu governor.
Luo, born in November 1951 and a native of Lingyuan, northeast
China's Liaoning Province, assumed the post of secretary of the CPC
Nanjing municipal committee in April 2003.
Luo is also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC
Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
He worked in the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League
of China in the early 1990s and began to work in Nanjing in
1995.
