Lu Hao Elected Party Chief of Gansu Province

Lu Hao was elected secretary of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Saturday.

Lu, born in April 1947, was elected to the post at the first plenary session of the 11th CPC Gansu Provincial Committee held in Lanzhou, capital of the northwestern province.

Lu is a native of Changli, in north China's Hebei Province, and he joined the CPC in 1981. He graduated from Lanzhou University in 1982.

He is now a member of the 16th CPC Central Committee and has served as secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee since July 2006.
