A senior Chinese police official in the central government has been removed from his post, sources with the discipline organ of the Communist Party of China (CPC) confirmed on Tuesday.
Zheng Shaodong, former Assistant Minister of Public Security, has been under investigation for serious violation against disciplines, according to the CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
Zheng's name has been removed from the officials' list posted on the front page of the ministry's official website.
The announcement follows unconfirmed rumors on the Internet about Zheng's remove from his post in the past months. The discipline organ did not give a date when the official was removed.
